The 8th Canadian Apparel Textile Sourcing Show

China News Agency, Toronto, August 21 (Reporter Yu Ruidong) The 8th Canadian Apparel and Textile Sourcing Exhibition hosted by China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles and Jiangsu Council for the Promotion of International Trade opened on August 21 at the Toronto Convention Center. This is the first time the exhibition has resumed offline on a large scale after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The total exhibition area of this exhibition is more than 3,000 square meters, attracting nearly 200 exhibitors from more than ten countries including China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc., with a total of more than 200 booths. The range of exhibits covers the entire industry chain of the clothing and textile industry. Including clothing, home textiles, clothing, luggage and other categories.

 

Chinese enterprises are still the main force of exhibitors. More than 120 Chinese exhibitors from more than ten provinces and cities including Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Fujian, Shanghai, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, and Liaoning participated in the exhibition, with more than 130 booths, including many well-known enterprises in the textile and garment industry.

 

Liu Linlin, Counselor Consul of the Chinese Consulate General in Toronto, Zhang Xinmin, Vice President of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles, Deng Jun, President of Bank of China (Canada) and President of China Chamber of Commerce in Canada, attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition and communicated with exhibitors from all sides. Zhang Xinmin told reporters that this year, Chinese companies have shown high enthusiasm for participating in the exhibition and their expectations for the Canadian market. He hopes that this exhibition will promote the recovery and development of China-Canada textile and garment trade.

 

The "Chinese Brand" zone set up by the Ministry of Commerce of China again relying on the exhibition is still a highlight in the exhibition hall. Nine selected brands from China's textile and garment industry will be exhibited in this special area to showcase the high-quality products of Chinese companies to international buyers.

 

Zhang Tong, general manager of the North American business department of Zhejiang Textile Import and Export Group Co., Ltd., said that the overall foreign trade market was weak during the epidemic, but as a supplier mainly of women's clothing fabrics, the company's customer base remained stable overall. He hopes to further expand overseas customers through this exhibition.

 

During the 3-day exhibition, more than 20 forums and lectures will be held, as well as "Chinese brand publicity clothing show" and "international fashion show". Industry experts will interpret and discuss topics such as green and sustainable development of the textile and apparel industry, supply chain security, and digital marketing.

 

This exhibition is hosted by JPC Corporation of the United States and co-organized by the Canadian Apparel Federation. The organizer said that the pre-registration scale of this exhibition has doubled compared with the previous one, and the market response is "exciting".
