The slider is the moving part that engages and pulls the elements apart. Sliders are an integral part of zippers, and there are many types of them. There are also many colors and styles. When choosing a slider, you should not only choose the one that matches the model of the zipper, but also choose the one with the appropriate function and shape according to the purpose. In short, choosing the right slider has a great impact on the experience of using the entire zipper, so it is very necessary to understand the characteristics of different sliders in advance.

The structure of the slider

The slider body has a pull nose, a pull piece, a support core, an inlet, an upper deck, a lower deck, a cloth seam, an upper selvedge, a lower selvage edge, an upper rib, a lower rib, an upper stop, and a lower stop.

Types of sliders

At present, the company's sliders mainly include three series of sliders: nylon, plastic steel and metal. In terms of shape, these three series of sliders have different characteristics.

Classified by function

Classified by function, sliders can be divided into three types.

No lock slider

The non-locking slider is a standard slider that does not have the function of locking the zipper. This type of slider includes elephant trunks, double noses, etc. Commonly seen in some light furniture items, such as mosquito nets, coin purses, etc. Like zipper teeth, there are many materials for sliders, such as zinc alloy, red brass, stainless steel, polyester resin, etc. It's also available in a variety of colors that work perfectly with a variety of zippers. There are also various types of pull tabs.

slider with lock

This slider has the function of locking the zipper. Install stop pins, horse hooks, spring sheets and other accessories in the inner cavity of the slider. So that the slider will not move randomly. The zipper is only unlocked by pulling the tab. Such sliders include butterfly heads, invisible heads, spring heads, automatic heads, etc. This type of zipper is mostly used on clothes that are inconvenient to be opened at will, such as dresses, skirts, jeans, etc.

Puller with keyhole/key and lock

Both of these are uniquely shaped lockable sliders. When the front ends of the two sliders are brought together, the two keyholes will coincide, so that they can be locked together with a padlock. These are mainly double locks and single locks. And the slider with key and lock is even more clear at a glance. When the key is inserted into the lock and rotated, the action of unlocking or closing the lock will be completed when the lock cylinder moves. This type of slider is commonly used on luggage or backpacks.
