Nylon


Nylon, scientific name polyamide, with wear-resistant, high strength, good resilience characteristics can be used for pure spinning and blended, nylon moisture absorption and dyeing better than polyester, alkali is not acid, long-term exposure to the sun will affect the fiber strength . Nylon heat setting characteristics, can maintain the formation of bending deformation.


To improve strength and elasticity, nylon filament yarn can be made of elastic, short silk and cotton and acrylic blend. In addition to clothing and accessories used in addition, but also widely used to make curtains, belts, hoses, ropes, fishing nets, tires, parachutes and so on. Whether it is strong or wear resistance, nylon are better than other fibers. Its abrasion resistance is ten times that of cotton and dry viscose fibers and 140 times that of wet fibers, making it extremely durable.


Nylon fabric flexibility and elasticity of recovery, but easy to deform under small external force, so very easy to wrinkles. Nylon breathable fabric is poor, easy to produce static electricity. Nylon heat-resistant light is not good, so when ironing temperature should be controlled at 140 degrees below. Use to avoid damage to fabric, must pay attention to washing and maintenance conditions.


Many varieties of nylon category, nylon 6, nylon 66, nylon 11, nylon 610, etc., of which the most important and most common are nylon 6 and nylon 66. The properties of each nylon are not exactly the same, but in common there is an amide chain in the main chain of the macromolecule, which can adsorb water molecules and form crystalline structure. It is very wear-resistant and is a very good clothing fiber.


Nylon fabrics are pure spinning, blended and interwoven fabric three categories, each category contains many varieties.

1. Nylon pure textile fabric is made of nylon fiber woven into a smooth, durable, easy to wrinkle and easy to recover.

2. Nylon blended and interwoven fabric is made by blending or intermingling nylon filament or short fiber with other fiber, with the characteristics and advantages of each fiber.

Nylon 6: Scientific name is polycaprolactam fiber, which is formed by lactam polymerization.


Polyamide 66: Scientific name is polyhexamethylene diamine fiber, which is obtained by polymerization of diacid and diamine.


The common characteristic of nylon 6 and nylon 66 is that the light resistance is poor. Under the irradiation of sunlight and UV light for a long time, the strength is decreased and the color is yellow. 


The heat resistance is not good enough. After aging at 150 ° C. for 5 hours, Yellow, strength and elongation decreased significantly, shrinkage increased. Nylon 6,66 filament has good low temperature resistance, the resilience of the sub-70 ℃ below the change is not large. Its DC conductivity is very low, and it is easy to generate static electricity due to friction during processing. Its conductivity increases with the increase of moisture absorption rate and increases exponentially with the increase of humidity. Nylon 6,66 filament has a strong ability to resist microorganisms and its ability to resist microorganisms in silt water or alkali is second only to that of polyvinyl chloride. In terms of chemical properties, nylon 6,66 filaments have alkali resistance and reductant effect, but they are poor in acid and oxidant resistance.
